ENTOG exchange and meeting 2016

Unfortunately ENTOG has had to change country of the exchange and meeting 2016. The reason is that EBCOG has had to move its congress due to a recently announced United Nations summit occupying the entire congress area in Istanbul. The EBCOG congress and ENTOG exchange and meeting will now be held in Turin, Italy on the same dates as originally planned:ENTOG exchange and meetings: 16‒19 May 2016EBCOG congress: 19‒21 May 2016.The ENTOG executive is horribly sorry to cancel the arrangements of the exchange in Turkey, as the Turkish local organising committee has put much effort into organising the event! We thank them for their great work and collaboration. The exchange in Italy is under organisation. We thank the Italian local organising committee for agreeing to arrange the exchange at such short notice. The exchange will be able to host 2 exchangees from each our member countries. We advice that the national trainee societies start selecting their candidates now as registration will begin early in 2016. Trainees can only register for the exchange via their national trainee society. The ENTOG scientific meeting and council will take place Thursday 19 May 2016 in Turin. The subject of the scientific meeting is “How to run a national trainee society” – a topic that calls for sharing of experiences among our member societies. We therefore encourage executive members of the national trainee societies to take part in the meeting. At the ENTOG council an amendment to the statutes will be proposed. The written amendment for debate and decision will be circulated at least two months before the council in accordance with then ENTOG statutes article 7.1.The ENTOG scientific meeting and the social events will take place in Turin conjoint with the EBCOG congress. We encourage our members to attend the congress; please visit http://www.ebcog2016.org/ for more information. There will be an ENTOG prize for the best poster or oral presentation about training by a trainee. Abstract deadline to the congress is 15 January 2016.

European Curriculum

During the next three years, EBCOG will develop a panEuropean training curriculumin Obstetrics & Gynaecology. The project is named EBCOG-PACT (Project forAchieving Consensus in Training). It is a very challenging and exciting project, where ENTOG and the trainee societies have been invited to participate on equal terms with our senior societies. All the national trainee societies will be invited to participate in a Delphi procedure, to reach consensus regarding the content of the curriculum. The procedure consists of 3 survey rounds where the first takes place in January. Thesurveys will be rather long and available to answer for one month each. In ENTOG weencourage our member societies to answer these surveys. This is a unique opportunity for the European trainees to shape the future European curriculum. We hope that you are willing to dedicate some time and intellectual input to this project, since it concerns the future of our training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. You can find more information on the EBCOG website (ebcog.org) under the tab ‘Training Curriculum’.If you have any further questions, please contact PACT executive project manager Jessica van der Aa on ebcogpact@gmail.com

Again in 2016 ENTOG and EBCOG will award three fellowships of 3000 euro each. Applicants must be a trainee in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in an EBCOG member country, and the fellowship must be hosted in either an EBCOG or nationally accredited training centre in an EBCOG member country. The fellowship is intended to expose the trainees to basic (‘general’ or ‘core’) Obstetrics and Gynaecology training. The application deadline is 1 March 2016.For more information including the application guideline please visit the EBCOG website.
